Donovan Ferreira, who has captained South Africa in the absence of Aiden Markram, has struggled in The Hundred with Birmingham Phoenix. Ferreira is one of two South Africans, along with Markram, leading a team in the tournament.

The West Midlands-based franchise has played two home and two away games this season, losing three of them. The captain has struggled to find form; his highest score is 22 not out from his first match. Since then, he has scored 23, 1, and 23, respectively, coming in to bat with more than 50 balls left in all three of those innings.

With Phoenix at the bottom of the table in The Hundred, changes are needed in order for the to reverse their fortunes in a team partly owned by English football star Jude Bellingham. Ferreira has to regain his batting form, or their playoff hopes will fade.

The hard-hitting batter has also struggled with his strike rate, which is currently 118, compared to his overall strike rate of 181 in the 22 matches he's played in The Hundred. Unfortunately, Ferreira needs to find form, hopefully it will inspire his side to turn their fortunes, end their three match losing streak, and start building a winning streak that will take the Phoenix to the play-offs and in their next match, they face log leaders Trent Rockets, who have only lost once in five matches.
